Singer Grace Sutherland and purple-dressed bassist Rosa Good, however, proved the girls can do just as well, if not better, than the boys. Their band - five-piece melodic indie-rockers, The Industry - certainly utilised the big stage, kicking out the jams with due aplomb. The Industry burst onto the Edinburgh live scene for the first time in June 2010, playing a handful of songs in the gym hall at The Citadel Youth Club during the Leith Festival.
Within a year, they had released two singles, gone from openers to headliners, featured on local and national radio, won a battle of the bands and played a storming set on the huge stage at the 2000+ seater Usher Hall - all that while 3 of the band members are still at school!
Though they're young, the impressive range of their songwriting has attracted a very diverse audience and helped them to make rapid progress as a band and contributed to them being selected by The Scottish Music Centre for an all expenses tour experience in December 2011 with dates in Aberdeen, Inverness and Edinburgh.
