HISTORY
THE INSIDERS were established in 2004. Founding members Tino Borges and Jeff Martin underwent various personnel changes in ensuing years until finally joining forces with current members Trevor Kelly and Barry Ledrew in January of 2005.
THE INSIDERS influences cover a wide range including Blue Rodeo, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Oasis, The Band and many others. Classic guitar driven rock, layered with harmony vocals, and a steady rhythm section perhaps best describe THE INSIDERS’ sound.
THE INSIDERS have consistently entertained crowds across Newfoundland as a cover band. They have garnered some significant success by becoming a staple of the renowned George Street music scene. They have opened for various acclaimed acts such as 54-40, The Trews, Trooper, and April Wine to name a few.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES
THE INSIDERS have recently recorded a demo consisting of three tracks: “This Time Now”, “Sin City”, and “The Battle”. The track “This Time Now” won the regional portion (consisting of entries from NL) of the Canadian RADIOSTAR National Songwriting Contest. The band now travels to Toronto, ON for the National finals from March 11-14. The band will also showcase their songs as a part of Canadian Music Week songwriters circle.
THE INSIDERS continue their work as a cover band and have begun to add original songs to their shows.
THE INSIDERS are currently working towards a studio album with a release date tentatively scheduled for September 2009.
