Bio
The Instant's influences are few, really. Sufjan Stevens, Blake Sennett, The Smiths, The Cars, Tears for Fears are who influence us the most, but it's hard to be influenced significantly when trying to create a solid concept, it brings out originality no matter how you play it. The Instant is consistent in that they always create concept albums, its too easy to throw together a random compliation of songs and call it an LP, so they try to create something a little more story/theme oriented. Moj and Wasson both grew up together and have always enjoyed listening to music, especially very melodic, orchestrated, non-noise music. They began writing music together in the winter of 2006 and have since completed over 2 albums, 40 songs, and are currently working on 2 more summer releases. Clinical depression has largely influenced their song writing, and has helped (in a way) to create honest original music that still has a popular appeal. Wasson and Moj are both currently attending college. Moj as a Film Major, Wasson as a creative writing major.
