"Irish music show with a twist"

Surely the real source of enjoyment at a music show is to experience something different. Globalisation has standardised many elements in the entertainment industry- not all of them bad, mind you- but where do you look for a change that will transport you into the cultural delights of another nation? Paradoxically in Ireland you gravitate towards the traditional. When is the best time? Party time actually? Where? The Irish House Party Show which is enjoying sell out shows in Dublin. The craic of course is the Irish brand name for fun, and at The Irish House Party it is interwoven expertly into the music, song and dance. The wonderful musicianship is complimented with the hilarity of the perfomers all of whom converse with the audience throughout the show. This is truly all embracing entertainment and well worth checking out. - Dublin Events Magazine

Bio

The Irish House Party is a new Irish music show leaving behind the old waistcoat and flat cap image.
Irish music and dance shows often conjure up images of flat caps, waist coats and comely maidens dancing at the cross-roads. The Irish House Party is a welcome antidote to these often cheesy portrayals of Irish music and culture.
For the first time ever The Irish House Party has been brought to the stage. The show is hosted by All-Ireland champion musicians, dancers and entertaining presenters who create this unique Irish experience in its proper homely setting resulting in an exciting new theatre going experience.
This fresh approach has made the show hugely popular with both Irish and international audiences with sell out shows in Dublin. The whole idea is creating an atmosphere where guests can be entertained and educated about the music. There is no distance between the performers and the guests. Just like a proper Irish house party.
Declan Quinn and Gerry Nolan who produce the show also perform in the show themselves. Declan's father plays the button key accordion in the show. Like many traditional musicians in Ireland they've been to numerous traditional house parties and felt it was time to bring this unique experience to the stage!
