blend of hypnotically driven guitars, pulse driving beats, poetically laced vocals, and groove rooted bass, the jack theory trader has been compared to the likes of earlier greats like the doors and pink floyd and new day heavies like incubus, sunny dal real estate, and radiohead. they merge thoughtful words with soothing melodies and lay down the aggression when called for. the band consists of four (sk-guitars/vocals, eric-vocals/guitar/piano, sam-bass, and scott-drums) seeking out success in this blessed medium called music.
the story behind TjTT is deep rooted falling back to 1996 when scott and sk met and played in an acoustic band together. their friendship has remained steadfast since. though eric and sam's meeting and friendship, only starting in 1999 in a high school guitar class, they share a musical connection and friendship that can be thoroughly observed at any TjTT live show.
the jack theory trader creates music that is creative and sometimes experimental. sk's gilmourish guitar sound along with eric's high-timbered and somewhat strange voice, sam's unforgettable "inbetween note" bass lines, and scott's usuage of peak and valley dynamics meld together to form music that is capable of making one cry with frustration and sadness and scream out in joy at the same time.
