THE JAMES BAND

The James Band was created in late 2006 by Jacob James and Mike Murray. Jacob James, a powerful baritone singer/songwriter from Tulsa, OK had been living in Los Angeles playing acoustic shows on the Sunset Strip and in many other clubs in the Los Angeles area. When Jacob James met Mike Murray a flashback of blues-based classic rock was formed. Since these two musicians share many of the same influences- Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, and other similar groups- an origional sound was created. Mike Murray with his Bonham type of power and funk moved a soft spoken acoustic act to a full blown rock show. The energy of the band is contagious. Often compared to The Doors for their blues-based riffs and the soul of Jacob James' baritone howl and growl, the simple two-piece has crowds dancing and screaming. This live show is intense. From the west coast to the eastern seaboard, rock and roll continues to be one of the most influential genres of musical expression-this band is here to honor that.
