"Some talented local guys!"

Last week I had the opportunity to have a couple of local guys in the WJVL studio. Jamie Campbell & Jim Carratt were on their way to CMT's "Can You Duet" auditions in Nashville. Now there are a lot of really talented local bands and it takes a certain attitude to put your stuff out there on stage. As one who has played on many stages and in lots of different bands, let me just say...the crowd always has a good time when the band is having a good time. When someone is on stage to prove to the world that they deserve to be on stage, it's a turnoff. That said...The Jamie Campbell Band is having FUN! It was a riot in the studio with Jamie and Jim and I can only imagine what the stage show is like. FUN! Both guys sure to let me know that they looked at their trip to Nashville as a contact making, fun loving road trip...oh and they were going to audition for the CMT show. Unfortunately the guys didn't get picked, but made lots of music industry contacts and had lots of fun during the experience. Check 'em out if you get the chance to see them around the stateline area..."The Jamie Campbell Band"! Rock on boys.

Bio

Formed in December of 2008 The Jamie Campbell Band was inspired by Jamie's success as a regional finalist for Nashville Star. Since Jamie’s audition the band has ramped up their practices to nearly 3-4 times a week. They have opened for National Acts and have played venues across the country including Nashville TN. The band combines a solid classic country vocal with the elements of modern rock. Jamie’s main influences include Ronny Milsap, Craig Morgan and Conway Twitty. Now imagine some of those classic country singers with the styling’s of Eddie Van Halen. But, don’t be fooled, when that classic tone is needed to keep it country Gary Underhill, a seasoned musical veteran from Kentucky keeps the band grounded with a firm and smooth acoustic rhythm section. It’s this unique perspective that keeps this band fresh.
