Born out of the ashes of an abandoned solo project, The Janson Gates brings together a group of musicians who have been courting the St. Louis music scene for nearly 20 years in groups like Earl, Rocket Park, Free Dirt, Work In Progress, SpinRadio, Triage, The Old Toddlers, X-Kalibur, The Quintessential Pine Tree Brothers, and Antle Walked By.
Their influences are too numerous to list, taking inspiration from some of the best that the last 50 years of popular and rock music has had to offer. One song might pay tribute to the guitar heroes of the 70's and 80's, while the next may get into your head like the singer/songwriters of the 90's and 00's. One song might be a gut-wrenching confessional while the next is a tongue in cheek ode to an ex-girlfriend. If there's one thing the Janson Gates want to do, it's create music that means something. Their songs rise from their life experiences, which they bear on stage for their fans to experience and relate to.
The Janson Gates are all laid back, fun guys who love to perform and entertain. At the request of many that have already heard them play, they are currently working on a demo EP.
