Bio

Music can mean many different things to many different people. For some, music provides the underscore to their lives, always in the background, accompanying their day-to-day activities, but rarely in the forefront. For others, music is the soundtrack of their lives, often out in front of everything, matching the pulse and mood of their current state. For others still, music is an art, a science, something to be analyzed.

San Luis Obispo County’s own, The JD Project, provides the kind of music that works very well for all three instances. Their driving blend of rock, blues, soul, and country provides a pulse that is great for a party atmosphere. It moves you to tap your feet, dance, sing along…basically have a great time. Their lyrics and musicianship will impress even the most discerning of listeners. Their live performances are exciting, amusing, and enjoyable while still leaving the opportunity for people to hold a conversation with each other (although once you hear them, you won’t have time to talk…You’ll find yourself drawn to the dance floor!) All in all, The JD Project is a great band for any occasion where dancing and having a good time are at the top of the list of priorities.

The JD Project is comprised of veterans of many California and national touring acts, including former members of SLO’s own nationally touring acts, Itchy McGuirk and Resination. The JD Project has played throughout the San Francisco Bay area, San Luis Obispo, SLO Concerts in the Plaza, A Taste of San Luis, Atascadero Concerts at the Lake, The Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, the Morro Bay Harbor Festival, wineries up and down the coast, private corporate parties and numerous other local venues. The members of The JD Project have played throughout the United States, opened for major acts (such as Blues Traveler, Damien and Julian Marley, General Public, Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, Eek-A-Mouse and many more), headlined at large venues (House of Blues Hollywood, Key Club, Slim’s, The Great American Music Hall, The Last Day Saloon, Malibu Inn, Temple Bar, Pier 23 and many more), played the opening and 10th anniversary of the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center, played every year of Polypalooza, many years of the Wildflower Triathlon, Avila Beach Music Festivals, and many other exciting venues throughout the country.

Throughout their musical careers, the members of The JD Project have maintained San Luis Obispo County as their home base and take great pride in being members of the Central Coast community. The JD Project is a perfect fit for any music venue. Their danceable original tunes, in combination with a few great cover tunes, outstanding musicianship, soaring vocals, and overall stage presence will ensure a great time by all in attendance!
