The Jennifer Echo is true power pop-sweet and crunchy. Influenced by groups like the Foo Fighters, Rocket from the Crypt, The Descendents and Husker Du, The Jennifer Echo brings a new, fresh sound to the table. Combining elements of 80's pop, metal, and punk, their duel lead vocals and soaring harmonies bring new definition to modern power pop.
From the wreckage of Wisconsin pop punk band Ben Grim, The Jennifer Echo was formed. Peter Saturday (vocals/bass) and Joel Vega (vocals/guitar) had paid their dues in the world of rock and roll touring relentlessly with Ben Grim, even relocating the band to Florida and then to North Carolina where it ultimately met it’s demise. They parted ways and never imagined they would ever play music again, let alone with each other. They remained friends and somehow over a year later the moons aligned. They met up once again, this time in Portland, Oregon. It wasn't long before the idea of a rock band entered their minds and hearts. With nothing left to lose they began writing their unique brand of hook-laden guitar pop. During this time, they began auditioning dozens of guitar players without finding the right match. Finally, one grey drizzling Portland afternoon, they met The Express, ex-Break Up (Santa Barbara, CA) guitarist. It took no more than 30 seconds of listening to him play to realize that he was the perfect fit. The songs and ideas began to truly take form and excitement was in the air once again. With the Express' creative influence pushing the songs to a higher level the picture was clear that a drummer was needed to complete the band. After what seemed like an eternity searching for the perfect match in skill and character they met Jim Wadsworth of Reno, Nevada (Ex-Boyfriends, Vae Victus). It was an omen, just by the Descendents tattoo on his leg alone, that he would be the one who would beat the skins and push the songs even further than ever imagined. United by melody, the line-up was finally complete and within three weeks the band entered the studio recording four songs which are destined to become their debut ep. The Jennifer Echo were just getting started and now have an arsenal of ultra catchy, power pop anthems perfected and ready to be recorded. With a powerful high energy live show and nothing more than their honesty and the love of creation, they are now beginning again, with hope of dreams which they thought had been forgotten.
