Biography

Jess Powers is best known for her sultry vocals that add to the unique sound of Route .44, an eight-member band that has been touted as one of Providence’s best original bands. Dubbed “Best Female Vocalist” in the readers choice polls for Providence Phoenix in 2008 as well as Motif Magazine in 2009, Powers has maintained a solid presence in the local music scene for the past several years. Recently formed in the fall of 2010, The Jes Powers Project is a foray into exploring Powers’ own creative vision, sound, and lyrical style. The band has been well received, performing at Lupo’s, opening for They Might Be Giants, and at The Met during its first week of operations, opening for Gaelic Storm. Powers is motivated by sharing her creative vision and sound with others and welcomes the opportunity to share the stage with all who are willing. www.thejespowersproject.com
