The Jibs
Austin, Texas, United States | Established. Jan 01, 2016
Bio
The Jibs are an Austin-native blues-rock band made up of singer and guitarist Will Clark, guitarist and keyboardist Caden Westmoreland, bassist Roman Parnell, and drummer Eric Schueler. The four met as freshmen at the University of Texas sailing club within their first few days on campus. They immediately began writing music and consequently never returned to the sailing club.
After only a few weeks of working together, The Jibs wrote a collection of songs and spared no time recording their debut self-titled EP. Taking inspiration from the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, and Austin-native Gary Clark Jr, their sound is driven by old school blues-rock riffs and modern day indie influences such as Alabama Shakes, Tame Impala, and The Black Keys. The band’s soul is passionately grounded in honest music and energetic live performances.
The Jibs’ first single, “I’ve Been Low” is available for download or streaming on any major platform. The band is currently playing shows in Austin, Tyler, and Dallas, and are making plans to tour Summer 2017.
