The Jitters

The Jitters was formed out of the solo project (then later two piece) that was known colloquially as Me, Myself & Irony. Jon (or Juan Carlos as he if affectionately referred to), the lead guitarist and vocalist, had been playing and re-arranging most of our current set list for years as a solo act before finding a willing and able drummer, Ethan, to create loud, passionate pop/punk music with. A few many months went on and many bass players came and went until finally the duo found one (Ken O.) in that they hope to keep around for all of the future. We all have been involved in the “local” (Gurnee, Il & Kenosha, Wi) music scenes for many years individually and have finally come together to make The Jitters our cathartic brain child. The short and long term goal of the band is to play as much as possible and for anyone that is interested in listening. Beyond that, we don’t concern ourselves with the infinite possibilities of the future, we’re gonna work and play hard. If people care and want to support us, that’s only a bonus.

What sets us apart as a band is our rhythmically heavy sound and our melodious & catchy pop sensibilities in a blues/ punk style of song writing.
Our superficial influences include Alkaline Trio, early Green Day and Blink 182 and The Sun City Girls. Gee! everyone has been influenced by these guys: we add our own flavor and pizazz to what many consider the standard pop-punk aesthetic.
