Demo CD "17 Downtown" - 2012

EP release - 2014

The JollyGood is a Canadian Indie Rock band based in Edmonton, Alberta. The band started out in high school in 2006. The JollyGood won two Battle of the Bands competitions before setting out to play shows throughout central Alberta. In 2009, University studies temporarily interrupted the band’s line up when two members quit to attend school out of province.

After nearly a 2 year hiatus, three of the original members came back together to record and release their first EP entitled “17 Downtown,” in September, 2011.

Later that year, bassist Cory Raniere joined the JollyGood. Since then, the band has continued to evolve, re-establishing itself as a ‘go- to’ bar band in places like Brixx, On The Rocks, Wunderbar, Red Square and many more. In early 2012, The JollyGood won the “Kokannee Freeride Battle of the Bands.” This gave them the opportunity to play on the top of the chalet at Marmot Basin Ski Resort in Jasper, along with evening show at the Athabasca Hotel for a rocking crowd.

The Jolly Good’s musical inspiration is drawn from many genres, including but not limited to; Funk, Indie, Alternative Rock, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Since the first EP was recorded, the band’s sound has evolved into a crisp, well defined sound that touches all of their influences. Music that makes you want to rock, makes you want to dance and some with a more feel-good/summertime vibe.

Never sitting still, the band continues to grow and mature as a musical force, stronger musically and more confident as a band. Members include: Jake Coykendall, (lead vocals & rhythm guitar) Steven Stalenhoef, (lead guitar) Cory Raniere (bass) and Sam Coykendall. (drums/keyboard/vocals)

The band is currently recording a second EP which is set to be released in the fall of 2014.
