Bio

Patrick Finn, Dallas Peavy, and Dennis McGrew finally realized, after years of co-working, they shared an affinity for infectious pop melodies and amplifiers. It was thusly the bombastic rock trio was born. This much is known:

Patrick Finn, pioneer of early Texas Brit-pop, hails from the land of Dr. Pepper, Shiner Bock, and Space City. Influenced by the Beatles, XTC, and the Reivers, among others, Patrick found success performing the Houston-Austin circuit as a member of numerous groups, most notably pop outfit Flowerpot. After relocating to Atlanta, it took a mere few years for him to discover co-worker Dallas Peavy, a drummer sharing similar musical tastes and interests, most importantly for rock bands such as Superdrag and the Posies. This would prove to be an invaluable and reciprocal exchange of music. Dallas absorbed the rock fundamentals of Hüsker Dü and the Replacements while providing Patrick with plentiful amounts of Elvis Costello, Nada Surf, and the Drive-By Truckers. Having played with the esoteric Iomen and assorted jazz ensembles, Dallas took to the new rock idea. Still they were missing a key factor.

It was only a matter of time before this critical third member of the band would reveal himself in the form of Sir Dennis McGrew, Sr., avid Pixies listener and Guided By Voices aficionado. Formerly of the indie rock Superbus, Dennis brought his unique brand of weirdness and love of rock to complete the triumphant trinity and further innovate the jonesplan. The three discovered deep ties in music, whether it be in the classics or in latter-day bands like New Pornographers or Built To Spill.

The jonesplan love music. They work and collaborate to create the greatest rock possible. There is no pretension, no forced ideas; there is only the free will of rock.

Dallas has been working to get the band seen and heard throughout the region. Currently the band is involved with Atlanta-based Walk To Run Records.
