JOSH WARD BAND: Quickly becoming a weekend favorite at Borski’s Tavern, Houston honky tonk man now 25, Ward was raised on country, with his initial musical experiences coming from old gospel hymns he sang at church. As he grew up, Ward ran with the musical outlaws like Waylon & Willie and country gentlemen like George Jones and George Strait, polishing his skills while riding in high school rodeo events.
Josh Ward joined his first band in early 2003, playing area honky-tonks while recently going old school with Western Swing in the Southern Breeze Band in Liberty; his “captivating voice and original sound go way beyond years. The Josh Ward Band has a unique style of traditional honky-tonk mixed with Texas Attitude and Good Ol' Southern Rock. Lead Singer, Josh Ward, has an untouchable voice that grabs your attention. Just a few songs into the set you will see just why the Josh Ward Band is turning heads everywhere they perform.
Born May 15, 1980 in Houston, TX, Josh Ward was raised on country music, his first musical influence being old gospel hymns he would sing at church. As a teenager Willie, Waylon, Merle, George Jones, and George Strait were his inspiration. While riding the high school Rodeo Circuit, Josh polished his vocal and guitar skills while singing on the tailgate of pickup trucks between events.
Josh has come a long way since playing on tailgates at the local rodeos. He joined his first band in early 2003 playing local honky-tonks and bars. Most recently he had the privilege of playing with the Southern Breeze Band out of Liberty, Texas. Southern Breeze being one of the most popular Texas Swing Bands in the state gave Josh the stage time and experience needed to stretch out on his own and pursue his life long dream of performing and playing music full time.
If you get a chance to see a show, it won't be hard to see why the Josh Ward Band is gaining so much attention. Whether it's traditional country, old time rock n roll, or Texas Music Fans looking for a good time, The Josh Ward Band leaves no one disappointed, and everybody asking for more!
