The emergence of the JPTrio has lifted heads and hearts in the Irish music scene. Entwining, world and jazz rhythms with Irish traditional tunes has created a new vibrant sound that is attracting & delighting audiences since their debut performance at Sligo Live in 2010. The group’s innovative music has caught the attention of many, in 2011 they were voted a best newcomer band at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections and in March 2013 they shared the stage with Bobby McFerrin at Dublin’s National Concert Hall.

Playing wonderful combinations of instruments the trio have crafted new compositions and arrangements with youthful passion and energy into a show that constantly keeps the listener engaged and exhilarated. Influenced by their native Sligo music tradition the group embrace innovative rhythms from Paddy’s native Uganda with the best of old and new traditional tunes interwoven into a sound which has propelled this group onto the big festival stages. Niamh Farrell on vocals can move effortlessly from Irish traditional to gospel and to contemporary folk genres, giving the audience an eclectic performance of songs delivered by one of the great new voices of Irish singing.
“A great instrumentalist with a lot of innovation and terrific percussion, Niamh Farrell is Versatile and one to watch for I certainly will be!”–Brian Donovan, WGBH (Boston U.S.A)

“The new cutting edge of fused traditional Irish music”- Mairtin O’Connor

Cuireann guth álainn, binn, Niamh Farrell go mór leis an phacaiste ceoil seo. Guím gach ráth ar an JPTrio & Niamh Farrell i gcónaí.
