"Band Info"

A high-energy blues/rock band based in Western New York, takes pride in their original music. However, that doesn’t stop them from featuring the music of British blues/rock legends such as the Animals, Cream, Robin Trower, Gary Moore, Led Zeppelin, and Traffic along with music by Albert King, the Allman Brothers, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, ZZ Top, Robert Cray, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, plus many traditional covers. This is definitely not your typical blues band!

The band’s achievements include placing second at the 2009 Memphis Bound Blues Competition. Three of their original songs have been included on blues CDs compiled by 88.7 WBFO-FM, the local NPR affiliate, which get regular air-play. Band members Joe Territo (JT), Rick Baker, Rick McDonald, and Scott Freilich are experienced musicians whose passion and talent combine to create some great original music.

The band’s original CD, 21st Century Blues, is selling very well worldwide - in over 20 countries so far! 21st Century Blues is a straight mix with no dubbing, extra fills, or studio magic. When you hear the band live, you experience exactly what you hear on their recordings.

All of their original songs get regular airplay on internet radio stations worldwide, where the band averages about 300 plays each month. The bands Internet Radio sites have generated many new fans from Europe and have received tour invites from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland, and the UK. A possible European tour is tentative.

On October 16, 2011, the 21st Century Blues CD was the featured album on the Anita West Blues Show on WBFO 88.7 NPR station in Buffalo, NY which broadcasts worldwide where their songs also get regular radio air-play.

"21st Century Blues CD"

“Run Right Into The Blues” is an upbeat tune with a catchy chorus which revisits some of the icons of the blues – “I saw a Red House yonder, I swear the sky was crying; passed right by the crossroads, I saw Mr Johnson flying” – is quite a clever lyric, one of the best songs on the album.

"The JT Blues Band - 21st Century Blues - CD Review"

CD Review - By Bob Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com
Keeping the beer flowing and the party going on their new release 21st Century Blues are The JT Blues Band. Originally formed in 2004 by guitarist Joe Territo, the band now consists of vocalist Rick McDonald, drummer Rick Baker and bassist Joe Scrivo. They get their Texas blues shuffle moving on the tracks "Eighty Lady" and "You're Not in Town" pay homage to the working class Joe on "21st Century Workman's Blues" and lay down a slow blues cooker on "Send Me Your Love". Make sure to check out the track "Buffalo Is Still My Home" an ode to the Queen City that the convention and tourism folks should be using in their advertising.
