Our style is ecclectic within the genre of jazz. We aren't your typical " let's play a bunch of old standards" band. We play jazz funk as well as straight ahead. Our influences range from Art Blakey and the jazz messengers to weather report to the crusaders and everything in between. Even our name is different. Instead of calling the band "the Jeff Lawrence Quintet, I opted for the Jteam. It's more stylish, a bit refreshing and It doesnt lend itself to any pre-coceived notions.
