"ROCK SOUND MAGAZINE"

“We have only one complaint about this CD; there just isn't enough of it. The blues-tinted, soaring melodies deliver a rare and masterful blend of emotion and integrity. With guitars twanging freshly in your ears, Tulk's voice holds your attention with a gentle but vice like grip. The musicianship is truly awesome, and the production is next level. Think City and Colour gone pop. This is contemporary folk at its finest, begging the question: is this town big enough for Julian Tulk and Frank Turner?” 9/10 JL ROCK SOUND MAGAZINE

"The Julian Tulk Band bring you Contemporary folk/pop at its finest. The four-piece who hail from across the south of England work as one to produce a unique alternative blues sound and combine wistful melody with raw emotion all delivered brilliantly by Tulk’s flawlessly powerful vocals. The superb musicianship is backed up by some top notch production making their debut release a listening pleasure." HUBBUB UK - HUBBUB UK

“The Julian Tulk Band take a beautiful melody and gives it a graceful and ragged edge. The staccato licks and driving drums giving the song the right amount of power and might, whilst Tulk’s glorious vocals deliver the melody at ease and with emotion. Fantastic stuff…" - subbacultcha.com

Bio

The Julian Tulk Band currently resides and performs in and around the south of England. Having established a following in previous bands over a number of years, gaining experience playing styles of rock, metal, punk and reggae, the guys settled more comfortably through mutual love of playing more traditional styles of music.

Although Julian originally writes the songs on his own, they are then arranged, added too and transformed into whole pieces with the awesome rythymical talent of Griffin Maggs on percussion and the outstanding vision and technical ability of Will Twomey playing Bass and Guitars, with the recent addition of multi instrumentalist Barry Pollock. These longstanding musicians and friends want nothing more than to write, play, drink and perform good songs with good people and achieve all this in honesty. But, above all have fun! Treading the lines between deep rootsy folk/blues and pop orientated 'bing-bang-bong', Julian Tulk looks to be one of the most promising vocal and songwriting talents around today. Always performing professionally and competently the band never cease to have a desire to gain more knowledge and experience to produce ever more improving and fresh yet traditonal styled music.

The lush grooves and epic guitar pop of The Julian Tulk Band are set to take the live scene by storm with a new album “SHINE MY BROTHER, MY GHOST, MY BROTHER”
Having spent the last year working on their debut release THE JULIAN TULK BAND are now looking to move quickly forwards, showing the world what they’ve got to offer. Having played support slots for the likes of Patty Plinko and Supergrass and venues such as the London Forum and Scala, they’ve already shown that they’ve got what it takes to perform up there with the best.
