Kemi was minding her own business, juggling her day job with running the notoriously eclectic and wildly popular Mindie nights at 93 Feet East when she met Rob Farnham at a party. Rob aka Bare Beats had already made a name for himself in hiphop,on both the UK scene and internationally with acts such as Toronto's Modulok.
Kemi confided in Rob that she had been writing songs for years, keeping mum about them to her friends and family. Rob was looking to broaden his horizons and when he heard Kemi's dulcet tones and illuminating lyrics, set about crafting a sound that would become The Kemistry's very own.
The formed an intense, sizzling backing band with a nose for a groove and instantly caught the ears of London's music lovers, earning coverage by Vice, Boxfresh and NME Radio within their first year.
Now largely ditching the samples whilst maintaining that dusted vibe, The Kemistry are taking it to the next level. Stopping there for a quick tea and a comfort break, then pioneering the next next level, just for kicks.
