Bio
The Kenzos are a rock and roll band based in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles, California. The band is comprised of singer/guitarist Joey James, drummer Mark Savage, guitarist Michael Anderson, and bassist A. J. Anderson. The band produces a gritty sound with an aggressive power which still maintains strong melodies. They are a staple on the southern California live circuit, regularly playing from the Sunset Strip to Orange Co.
All of The Kenzos are transplants to the Los Angeles area : 2 from the East coast and 2 from the Mid West. Joey James and Mark Savage hail from the Philadelphia, PA and Washington, D.C. areas, respectively, while A. J. Anderson is from Brainerd, MN , and Michael Anderson comes from Rockford, IL .
The Kenzos blend a range of musical styles and tones, from blues to power pop to punk rock and beyond. Their influnces include artists as diverse, as Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Clash, and Black Sabbath. Although, they might not always sound like these influences, it's always manifested in their attitude, spirit, and outlook. The Kenzos will be making their Austin debut this March, and the sky's the limit for this promising California outfit.
