Mathew Kerlin sent out this Facebook message to members of the group following Syracuse Christian band The Kerlin Syndrome:

"We are currently working on a new studio project, which is very exciting for us," Kerlin says. "I'm hoping to get some pre-release cuts to share on the site to get opinion on them."

Good news.

Here's what I wrote in The Post-Standard about The Kerlin Syndrome's 2006 CD "Twomorrow."

Mike Kerlin took some time from his passion as pastor of Truth Bible Fellowship in Nedrow and full-time jobs to get back to the recording studio.

The singer-songwriter-guitarist won a 1996 Syracuse Area Music Award with band Zoa for best gospel group.

A decade later, Zoa friends Mat Kerlin on drums, Bill Camloh on guitar and Joe Paolozzi on bass help The Kerlin Syndrome stay true to its beliefs on the 10-song "Twomorrow." Terry Vickery on harmonica helps drive home the point.

From the blues zeal of the opening cut, "Be Revived, " to the blooming love song "The Rose" with its lyrics "Time and time we see through our tiny eyes, he was with us all along" to the purposefully rough and raw instrumental "Paul, Don't Go, " The Kerlin Syndrome nicely dovetails Christian messages with soaring music.

Bio

After playing for years in the band Zoa, Mike and Mat Kerlin, Joe Paolozzi, Seth Richardson join Jonas Kerlin and Steve Yazell to form the band "The Kerlin Syndrome" Back in 1975 Mat met Steve Yazell at a party, found out he played guitar and asked him to come jam. The band Toejam was born. With the brothers Kerlin(Mike and Mat), Steve and a few other players the band became a regional hit. The band broke up some 4 years later and we all moved on to other things. Steve to Atlanta, Mike to Florida and Mat stayed in Syracuse to play in another band he started, called South Side Shuffle. Mike came back to Syracuse in 1980. He and Mat started the band Reel to Real with some awesome players. in the summer of 1981 Mike got saved, Mat followed in October and the band had an opportunity to play with Joe English (former drummer for Wings) what an awesome time that was. Reel to Real broke up and a few years later Zoa was born. We had great success in Zoa, recording two CD's and touring in Holland, charting some songs and touring the North East and Canada. Playing with the likes of Randy Stonehill, Rick Cua, The Choir, Hoi Poli, Rez Band. It was an great time for us, but Mike felt a calling to full time ministry and the band broke up. Now some 10 years later Mike runs into Steve who moved back to Central NY state and with a few Zoa guys (Joe Palozzi, and Seth Richardson) along with His brother Mat and Mikes son Jonas, The Kerlin Syndrome was born!!!
