"New Blood at The Limelight"

The Kicks, Instantly likeable, the four members are a London / Belfast mix, and with a gig at the Black Box not long over they had a little bit of experience. With songs like “The Preacher” giving a slower rhythm and “Wasteland” making you want to get up and rock out, their excellent playlist had a bit of everything. Influenced by Kasabian, Oasis and The Verve,”Plastic People” was my favourite and this is definitely a band to watch out for in the future. With upcoming gigs at Auntie Annie’s, add them on Facebook to keep in the loop. - Student pulse

Bio

Formed in late 2009 The Kicks are a 4 piece Indie-Rock band from Belfast including Phil Rainey, Emmett Stewart, Barry Caddell and Vince Caddell joined with the ethos of delivering anthems with energy and spirit to have the crowds dancing and pumping their hands in the air. The Kicks have been working hard in establishing themselves on the local music scene. With their 6 track EP ‘Wasteland’ due to be released at the start of March, with a music video for ‘Sinking in the shadows’ to be released at the same time the future is looking bright for The Kicks. On the 26th December ‘Sinking In the Shadows’ reached number 1 in the NI free download chart. Now with regular air-play from BBC’s ATL radio show the momentum is gaining for 2011 to be an amazing year
