The Kick Ups

The Kick Ups are an original rock and roll band from Providence, RI. Long-time friends Mike Rayner (guitar) and Ryan Hurley (drums/vocals) formed the band in 2013 as an outlet for their musical passion. Listeners have described their music as sounding like classic rock, grunge, blues/garage rock, and alternative. Their songs vary in tone from solemn and reflective to energetic and wild. The live performances, with help from additional musicians, are nothing if not entertaining. In 2016, Ryan Devlin joined the duo to round off the band as the group's bassist.

The Kick Ups have performed all over Rhode Island and parts of Southern Massachusetts. They have written and recorded over 15 original tracks with the help of friends and local professionals. They were finalists in the 2014 Big Break contest help by WPRI News and semi-finalists in WBRU's 2016 Rock Hunt.

Seeking out opportunities and challenges, listening to the advice and ideas of others, and keeping a positive attitude and open mind have lead to fantastic experiences and growth both as musicians and as a band.
