Bio

"CONFORMITY", set to be released mid-June 2016 is the debut album from The Kidneys. While the title track of the album conveys heavy, straight forward, punk driven style with dirty tones and gritty vocals, The Kidneys fearlessly demonstrate their audacity to blend any style of music they see fit for the broad spectrum of subject matter that is covered in the album, which all revolves around the theme of neutral chaos.

The first single released from the album, titled "Over There (in Mexico)", introduces a theatrical tale of the band coming to terms with their destiny. Incorporating reggae and punk influences, the song provides an aesthetically and rhythmically pleasing fluid groove with a heavy riff driven chorus reminiscent of White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army".

The second single off the album, "Convenient Store Stickup" released on April Fools Day 2016, is in great contrast to "Over There (in Mexico)". The song communicates a sociopolitical commentary on modern day class warfare, with a sporadic rhyme scheme that narrows in on plays on words. Musically, the song has an alternative rock base that gets thrown into a spacey bridge by turbulent transitions, comparable to those of Frank Zappa and Black Sabbath.

After an entire year of hard work, The Kidneys are finally wrapping up production on "CONFORMITY" and are set to release a music video in late May to promote the release of the album in June.

The Kidneys are a rock trio hailing from Atwater Village, Los Angeles. Introduced to each other by mutual friends made in high school, The Kidneys formed and began performing original music in 2010. With the intent of dissolving traditional songwriting boundaries, The Kidneys mend their individual ideas to produce a sound that challenges the status-quo among their peers. Having played together for 6 years their chemistry has grown into an unbreakable bond. The Kidneys have a passion for what they do and their sound evolves at a moderate pace, keeping listeners on their toes for what to expect from each song.

The Kidneys draw an influence from artists that span across all genres and decades including but not limited to: Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Nirvana, Stepkids, Germs, Tame Impala.

The Kidneys have played at various venues and music festivals in the Los Angeles area such as:The Smell, Club Nokia, Kulak's Woodshed, Silverlake Jubilee, The Satellite, The Troubadour, The Viper Room, The Roxy, NAMM, Occidental College, Musuem of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and The Greek Theatre.
