"The Kill Van Kulls"

"Full of moody drama, melancholic lyrics, and soaring, sonic melodies, The Kill Van Kulls’ brightly textured electro-pop is loaded with copious amounts of world-weary, digital appeal for today’s emotionally high-strung cyber-youth." - My Old Kentucky Blog

Bio

Indie Pop may be more prominent than ever in the modern music world, but when it is done right, that is when an act really stands out. Meet The Kill Van Kulls, a group of charismatic musicians hailing from Manchester, UK. The band has already gained attention opening for the Airborne Toxic Event, Alex Winston, The Naked & Famous and Mona. This is only the beginning.

The Kill Van Kulls stared as a three piece with Gareth Bartlett (vocals/keyboards), Christopher Milton (guitars/vocals), Chris Walton (bass/vocals), and then were joined by drummer Benjamin Mousley in the summer of 2010. It wasn’t until the end of last year the band really started to draw attention when they performed at In The City in October.

You may already be familiar with the group as they have been making it into the circuit with their outstanding tracks “Wooden Heart,” and “Fools Wish.” The newest song to hit your radar is “Lost and Found,” which already premiered in video form a few short weeks ago and has been picked up by Spinner as well as Death + Taxes. “Lost and Found,” draws comparisons to Echo and the Bunnymen and Simple Minds with a hint of Prince’s groove placed into the mix. For those of you who dig Phoenix, Grouplove and Cut Copy, this may very well be your new favorite band, The Kill Van Kulls also take pride in releasing their own tracks on their label KVK Records, and are in the midst of creating more music for your listening pleasure which is sure to be a masterpiece in it’s own right.

“Lost and Found” will be available for download in the U.S, in July, so hold on tight. This is going to be a standout song for the summer. There is also a special remix made by the up and coming Manchester electronic act and producer, Swansong, to share as well. Are you on board already?
