A Kind Of LoveChild is an homage to the brilliant writing of Harold Battiste and also an expression of pure love through the lyrics and voice of
Kimberley Longstreth.
Musically, LoveChild shines with the soaring performances of the musicians who, with care and attention to the original compositions, recreate tunes written 40 years ago – bringing a modern flavor to the already hip chord progressions and intricate melodies. Lyrically, Kimberley uses her life-long obsession with melody and words to create emotion-filled lyrics that mirror the timbre of each individual song.
This is music for all listeners: older people who miss the quality melodies and lyrics of jazz standards, younger ears who listen for groove and production value, and musicians who know the value of creating music that is honest and good, music that was important and viable decades ago and will continue to be that indefinitely.

Bio
Kimberley is a vocalist, composer and lyricist from southern Louisiana. Her musicial experience began in church, and having a brilliant piano player for a brother didnt hurt either!
Kimberley had the good fortune to come up under New Orleans finest musicians Ellis Marsalis, Harold Battiste, the Boutte family, Bob and George French, who taught her how to make a gig and how NOT to be a chick singer.
She has performed and recorded with many luminaries in the music world, including Dianne Reeves, Bob French, Tricia Boutte and Ytre Suloen, Sista Teedy and Umami,
Matt Lemmler, John Boutte, Dany Brilliant, and Danny Salazar.
Kimberley is currently working with a neo-soul/jazz/R&B band out of Nashville.
