THE KIN

New York City, New York, USA
BandPop

The Kin is a 'partners in crime' collaboration between Aussie brothers, Thorald and Isaac Koren. 'Stow-aways' from Adelaide, Australia, they found a new home in downtown NYC in their early musical years after High School and eventually ended up running into underground 'junk' drummer Shakerleg.

Biography

Smashing together diverse influences to form their own brand of 'Dirt Pop', combining the brothers' soaring harmonies with Shakerleg's junk beats and wrenching guitars, the sound is most captivating live.

Led by Australia-born brothers Isaac and Thorald Koren, The Kin have forged a path for themselves as successful touring musicians across America, Canada, Australia and this year the U.K., France and India. touring non-stop for 3 years with the likes of Rod Stewart, Blue October, Joshua Radin, Rusted Root and many more.

The Kin have sold over 30, 000 of their first two releases independently (THE UPside charted in Billboard last August and was on the Heat Seekers chart for two weeks) and are set to release their first album of covers, 'The Rondo Sessions' (from Nina Simone to David Bowie), a collaboration with San Francisco producer team, The Rondo Brothers, in early 2011. They are currently in pre-production for their next studio album and are set to record a live EP at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC on November 22nd.

Lyrics

Go

Written By: The Kin

VERSE 1
All you want is gold, diamonds laced with pearls
Driving borrowed cars and pretend to be wasted

You will be star, there’s nothing out there
The voices in the crowd say ‘gimme back my innocence’

CHORUS
The people at the top say ‘come my way’
The people on the bottom say ‘ come my way’
To all the people I say ‘GO your way’

VERSE 2
See the little boy, on his rocking horse
He saw his city burn now he looks upon the wasteland

See the little girl touch the window pane
She’s feeling every chard as she looses her innocence

CHORUS
The people at the top say ‘come my way’
The people on the bottom say ‘ come my way’
To all the people I say ‘GO your way’

Never Be The Same

Written By: The Kin

I met a man today, he said boy don’t be scared
I’ll catch you when you fall, I’ve been here all along
I’ve been calling out your name
Its time you unravel the heart you tied so tight
It got ripped in the fray

Left by my side, you become light
Don’t ever be afraid, you took me by surprise
Freed from disguise, it’s written on the page
You’ll never be the same, never be the same

All the people stopped and stared
They said hey boy, you oughta love from your heart
Not from a broken mind
And all in all your worlds away
I was so scared to find the little boy inside
He said, die before you die

Left by my side, you become light
Don’t ever be afraid, you took me by surprise
Freed from disguise, it’s written on the page
You’ll never be the same, never be the same

I adore by surprise, always be there for all to see tonight

When we fall, and we fall
You will know
With my word, in the world
You will go

Left by my side, you become light
Don’t ever be afraid, you took me by surprise
Freed from disguise, it’s written on the page
You’ll never be the same, you’ll never be the same
Left by my side, you become light
Don’t ever be afraid, you took me by surprise
Freed from disguise, it’s written on the page

You’ll never be the same, never be the same
You’ll never be the same, I’ll never be the same, you’ll never be the same
