MASTERFULLY PLAYED. You can hear echoes of Chicago blues, Delta blues and jump blues, blues-rock ... a good illustration of how diverse this wonderful music can be, especially if it is masterfully played.

DAVID SCHADE is a brilliant blues guitarist with a unique style. David began a life-long relationship with the blues after being exposed to the music of Elmore James in the 1960s. He was fortunate to have seen club gigs by many of the greatest generation of electric blues players like Howlin' Wolf, Freddie King, Muddy Waters and countless other masters.
After a decade of playing professionally, David became obsessed with understanding the nature of the universe and dropped guitar for 25 years to study physics and astronomy, observe on many of the world's greatest telescopes, and work for Cambridge University and the University of Toronto before coming to Victoria. David believes that science and music are both, fundamentally, the act of people trying to explain the universe to one another.

RON LUKAWITSKI has been playing bass for 35 years and been a bass instructor for 20 years. He's toured extensively, recorded under the Atlantic Records label, opened for acts such as The Byrds, Canned Heat, Rare Earth and Savoy Brown, and toured the world playing on cruise ships. Ron is accomplished in many musical styles including rock, blues, Latin, R & B and jazz. Ron’s talents are the perfect fit for our musical projects. In Ron’s words, “I love the feeling when the group of musicians I'm playing with gels and the music is flowing effortlessly.

I Wish

Written By: Gary Preston

I wish the sky wasn’t high
I wish the ocean wasn’t blue
And, oh, I wish that I
Wasn’t still in love with you.
I wish that rainbows never promised
That ol’ pot of gold
And Lord I wish that I
Still had you to hold.

This old town has got too crowded
This old house has too much room
And the rain just keeps falling
On the weather-beaten roof.
And the fridge still mumbles
The whole night long
And that light bulb still buzzes
Like it’s singing my song.

I wish the sky wasn’t high
I wish the ocean wasn’t blue
And, oh, I wish that I
Wasn’t still in love with you.
I wish that rainbows never promised
That ol’ pot of gold
And Lord I wish that I
Still had you to hold.

Photos on the table
Stained with dust and beers and tears
Flicker in the candle
And dawn is near
So I’m going to the truck stop
For a cup of muddy joe
A warm sip of sorrow
With an oily rainbow.

I wish the sky wasn’t high
I wish the ocean wasn’t blue
And, oh, I wish that I
Wasn’t still in love with you.
I wish that rainbows never promised
That ol’ pot of gold
And Lord I wish that I
Still had you to hold.
