Bio

Since the recordings for The Kissaway Trail's debut album began in spring 2006, things have exploded around the band.
The self-titled debut was released in the UK in April this year to rave reviews calling it “a savagely beautiful noise” (NME), "the debut album of the year so far." (The Independent) “mesmerising” (The Guardian), “an absolute revelation” (The Fly) and simply, “phenomenal” (Rock Sound). The band’s live performances are also taking the critics by storm, with The Guardian declaring them “this year’s jawdroppers” and Drowned in Sound concluding that, “the whole experience sticks with the attendee for days, weeks afterwards; they should one day, soon, be playing to far larger crowds.”
Hailing from Odense, Denmark, the five young guys in The Kissaway Trail have set sail for new shores, armed with an album full of love, hope and loss. On deck they have their labels Bella Union in the UK, Europe and Japan, and Speak n Spell in Australia, who after listening to two of the band's songs on MySpace, instantly fell in love with the band and offered to release the album. In Scandinavia, the album is released by Playground Music.
The album has been produced by the band and Niels Høg, an only 20-year-old producer talent, from the bands native city. The result is 11 indie rock songs loaded with catchy melodies, large string arrangements, banjos and mandolins, altogether creating an impressive soundscape, with two lead singers and two songwriters bringing even more colour to their already diverse sound.
The final touch has been added by the UK's leading female Mastering Engineer, Mandy Parnell, who has worked with Sigur Rós, Depeche Mode, Fat Boy Slim, Moby, and Múm, to name a few.
On the visual side, Tracy Maurice, who has also done the artwork for Arcade Fire's Funeral, has created the artwork for the album, which beautifully compliments the bands musical expression.
Søren Corneliussen, Thomas Fagerlund and Rune Pedersen originally got together in 2004, under the name Isles. Their self-released 2005 album, "We have decided not to die", brought together their musical talents and offered a glimpse of what was in store. In the aftermath of that album the band went through several changes. Daniel Skjoldmose and Hasse Mydtskov entered the band and Thomas Fagerlund began to sing and write songs for the band, alongside Søren Corneliussen. This led to a whole new musical direction and formed the roots from which The Kissaway Trail, as they are now called, has grown.
2007 is shaping up to be an extremely busy year for The Kissaway Trail who were picked out by the NME as one of the top five best bands at SXSW earlier this year. The band are taking their explosive live performances to venues in both Europe and the UK and will hit the Festival Circuit this summer playing among others Wireless Festival, Latitude, and Bestival in the UK and Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The boys could not be more thrilled about all the commotion though, as sharing their music with people both at home and abroad is a long held dream and their driving ambition.
