The Klaxon

THE KLAXON fue fundado oficialmente en el año 2000, con una mezcla de ska y reggae, y matices de diversos géneros como el bolero, la cumbia, murga, rock latino y la salsa, entre otros.
Con doce años de experiencia The Klaxon, ha sido nominado a la mejor banda de ska en los Premios Shock, ha participado en tres ediciones del Festival Rock al Parque (2001, 2002 y 2009), el Rastazo (2002 y 2008) y en
diferentes ska- festivales de reggae en todo el país, compartiendo escenario con bandas como King Changó, Los Condones, Timmy O Toole ", Dr. Krapula, La Severa Matacera y Nawal. The Klaxon ha participado en 2 compilaciones de CD: "El Que La Hace La Grita" con Sony Music en México, "América Latina Unidos Skabox 1 y 2" en el sello de música Viuda Negra.

En 2005 comenzó a grabar su álbum debut "Obras Públicas", producido por Andrés Silva y con la participación de los miembros de Los Cafres (Argentina) por su primer single, "Ya nada puede ser igual", así como con Desorden Público (Venezuela) en "Que Mas Quisiera" y Ojos de Brujo (España) en el bonus track "Chade gitano".
Un año más tarde comenzó la gira "La Klaxoneta Por Sur América", llevando su música a Ecuador, Perú, Chile y Argentina, con cerca de 40 presentaciones y compartiendo escenario con bandas como Flavio y la Mandinga Proyect, Dancing Mood, Riddim y Resistencia Suburbana . El recorrido partió en dos la historia de la banda, a causa de la muerte del baterista Christian Fonseca en el final de la misma.
En 2007 The Klaxon se toma los escenarios Colombianos para llevar su música a diferentes partes del país, y comienza la pre-producción de su segundo álbum "Del Mar y El Desierto", que se completó en septiembre de 2010 en el estudio de grabación "El Cangrejo records" de la banda Karamelo Santo, en Buenos Aires Argentina. En esta ocasión, The Klaxon hizo alrededor de 20 presentaciones en diferentes ciudades de la Argentina compartiendo escenario con los más representativos grupos de la escena local.

En 2011 The Klaxon participa en el Victoria Ska fest 2011 en Canadá, comenzando así su tercera gira internacional, tocando en Canadá por 4 meses y después llevando su música a México estando mas de 3 meses, empezando la grabación de su tercer álbum.
The Klaxon llega a colombia a finales de febrero del 2012 y comienza a girar por las diferentes universidades de la ciudad y visita varios municipios cercanos a Bogota, en este momento the Klaxon esta en la pre-produccion de su tercer album.

The Klaxon was officially founded in 2000, with a mix of ska and reggae, and with nuances of other genres such as bolero, cumbia, murga, Latin rock and salsa to name a few.
With years of experience The Klaxon have been nominated for best ska band in the Shock Awards, and have participated three times at Festival Rock al Parque (2001, 2002 and 2009), and twice at the Rastazo (2002 and 2008) and in various ska- reggae festivals throughout the country sharing the stage with bands like: King Chango, Los Condones, Timmy O’Toole, Dr. Krapula, La Severa Matacera and Nawal. The Klaxon has featured on 5 CD compilations: “Ska box 1”, “Ska box 2”, “El que la hace la grita”, “Union Latinoamericana” and “15 años Rock al Parque”.

In 2005 The Klaxon began recording their début album “Obras Publicas”, produced by Andrés Silva and featured the members of Los Cafres (from Argentina) on their first single “Ya nada puede ser igual” and it featured Desorden Público (from Venezuela) on “Que mas quisiera” and Ojos de Brujo (from Spain) on the bonus track “Chade gitano”.
A year later They started their tour “La Klaxoneta por sur America” taking their music to Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina with nearly 40 performances and sharing the stage with bands like Flavio & the Mandinga Project, Dancing Mood, Riddim and Resistencia Suburbana.

The tour broke the history of the band in two because of the death of drummer Christian Fonseca towards the end of the tour.
In 2007 The Klaxon takes on the Colombian stages to bring their music to different parts of the country, and they begin the pre-production of their second album “Del Mar y ek Desierto” which is completed in September 2010 in the recording studio “ El Cangrejo Records” from the band Karamelo Santo in Buenos Aires Argentina. On this occasion The Klaxon makes about 20 performances in different cities in Argentina sharing the stage with local bands.

In 2011 The Klaxon participates in the Victoria Ska Fest 2011 in Canada, This marks the beginning of their third international tour, playing in Canada for 4 months and after that taking their music to Mexico for more then 3 months and starts recording their third album.
The Klaxon arrives in Colombia in late February of 2012 and begins to tour through different universities of the city and visit several municipalities near Bogota, At this time the Klaxon is in the pre-production phase of their third album.
