Formed in early 2011, The Korova spent several months developing a sound that could not be described as a rip-off, or as a generic sum of their influences. The result – a blend of mathematically simple Indie-Rock and high-energy, dynamic laden Alternative.

The Korova started gigging in mid September 2011, putting in the hours supporting Dundee’s local and emerging bands (i.e. doing what most bands do: playing to three people in toilet venues). Quickly building up a reputation as a tight, interesting live act with a solid set, The Korova now support major unsigned local and touring bands in Dundee’s best venues.

The Korova approach recording with the same ethos present at the band’s formation – a determination not to release even a single a note before it’s ready. Building on their live reputation, The Korova recently released their debut EP - Numbers and Narratives (digital release 9/2/12). With Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen in their sights, and as champion of unsigned music Jim Gellatly states, The Korova are “one to watch out for”.
