"The Kut - 'The Vision' Review"

Singing sultress Maha has a sly Danielle Dax type of voice that suits the eastern minor keys of The Vision a treat, and if she wasn't bouncing catawauling cacophony off the wall from her guitar, we daresay there'd be some vampy hand movements, too.......you've got yourself one bewitching number. - Jenny Knight, Guitar Magazine

"The Kut @ Live Bar, New Cross"

The Kut (who had a Linda Perry/Slash combo of a frontwoman, which was f**king impressive). - Oranges Falling

"The Criminal Sessions Compilation Review"

the elegant noir-pop of The Kut - Benjamin Short, God is in the TV

"The Kut Music Review"

The Kut... band from the future indeed! Girl power? That's so passé. Check this... - Cozzie Music Zine

"The Kut @ The Hope & Anchor"

... all girl dubsome rock with experimental touches...fuzzy and fine.. - Bugbear Promotions

Bio

As four female musicians on the London circuit, questions like 'Are you with the band?' no longer apply to a band like The Kut.

Initially formed in South East London in 2003, The Kut have been consistently turning heads with their musical ability and the strength of their songs on the underground scene.

Perhaps this is the key reason why 20 of the hottest new bands are happy to be associated and have releases out through their frontwomans' record label 'Criminal Records'. These artists include 2006 XFM unsigned winners 'Shuffle', 4* Kerrang rated band 'Kaibosh' and Alan McGee's latest recommendation 'Underdog', to name but a few.

More likely to be found playing benefit gigs and squat parties than the regular London dives, The Kut have been somewhat ignorant of the traditional route. However, their set is always powerful, gripping and full of passion. Time after time you can see this passion instilled in their loyal fanbase, mouthing all the lyrics, dancing and knowing that they will be there when The Kut finally breakthrough.

Think sublime vocals, hendrix quality riffs, dub bass, classical keys and solid drums. Musical complexities that shine best in the simplicity they are surround in.
