""Low Key Nu-Folk Loveliness""

" The multi instrumental Edinburgh 6-piece have earned gushing praise from several corners with their low key nu-folk loveliness"

Lis Marie Ferla, Feb 2010 - The Scotsman

""Hauntingly Beautiful""

" Consisting of six members, the band is really brought together by Scott Longmuir's earnest vocals, singing with a sincerity that makes every lyric sound honest and experienced, and with the female backing vocals accompanying, they transform into something hauntingly beautiful. "

Jan 2010 - Have Fun At Dinner Blog

""One band that definitely ahould not be missed.""

"There is a lot of talk about them in Edinburgh. A lot of positive murmers. From what I’ve heard on their myspace and the positive reviews I’ve heard from others to date this is one band that definitely should not be missed. I do love it when a band come on the radar who seem to tick all your boxes."

Named after a C.S Lewis novel, The Last Battle are a 14 legged Monster of Folk, fronted by Scottish singer/songwriter Scott Longmuir and London born singer Arwen Duncan.

The groups influences include Scottish luminaries such as King Creosote, Malcolm Middleton and James Yorkston as well as further a field artists like
Bright Eyes, Bonny Rait and The Decemberists.

Formed in 2009 and based in Edinburgh, the band have built up a loyal following with constant gigging and touring the U.K with the likes of First Aid Kit, King Creosote, Dawn Landes, The Unwinding Hours and Peggy Sue.

In October 2010 The Last Battle released their debut album 'Heart Of The Land, Soul Of The Sea', recorded completely in their front room in true D.I.Y spirit and released through small independent Scottish label 17 Seconds Records.

By the end of the year the album featured in the Top Ten end of year polls on just about every major music blog site in Scotland, as well as the Top Ten best selling album in Scotland's Biggest independent record store Avalanche Records.

On the live front, The Scotsman's Music blog 'Under The Radar' awarded the band Gig Of 2010 for an unplugged performance in Avalanche Records store.

December 2010 saw the group tour the U.K with Sheffield group The Book Club, taking in Glasgow, Aviemore, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Hull, Leeds and London.

The band are now working on an E.P for release in the summer.
