Bio

“Leave your baggage behind and take a ride”

That’s damn good advice from The Last Chill, four Melbourne mates who’ve taken longer than they should have to put out their first album.

“Life and patience just get in the way. We know why people quit,” jokes songwriter Dino Mack.

If you love live music, you’ll be glad The Last Chill didn’t quit.

“We just wanted to record a strong album from start to finish, even though downloading individual songs is becoming the punters preference today – we wanted to produce an ALBUM.”

Want to see and hear a real band in action? Experienced, intense, pumping, deep, eclectic, ready to give its all? Stand by. The Last Chill are playing in Melbourne venues gearing up to tour, but til then their album Infamy and Misfortune gives you a good indication.

They don’t want world domination. They just wanna play in a band with their mates, like we all do. Except these guys have got a pretty good head start on most of us…

The Last Chill formed in Melbourne in 2007, a few old friends who had been playing in and out of each other’s bands for more than a decade.

One of those bands was Rose Tattoo. But don’t let labels get in the way - there’s a banjo in there somewhere and it’s actually catchy!

Think a weird but wonderful melting pot - Ryan Adams meets Led Zep? With pinches of Johnny Cash, Ben Harper, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Pearl Jam, The Waifs (without girls!)….

With catchy songs that are hard to categorise, a brooding intensity about the lead singer and his lyrics, a lead guitarist that’s rock god one minute, channelling all things Celtic the next, and a band that can kick like a mule then be tamed by mandolin, bouzouki or blues harp… just what hole does this pigeon belong?

Simply, “we’re a rock n roll band.”

Dino Mack – vocals, acoustic guitar.

Maurie Brizzi – bass.

Greg Jordan – electric guitars, 12 string acoustic guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, backing vocals.

Billy Paskalis – drums, percussion.

Don’t be left in the cold. Go catch The Last Chill.
