"The Last Holy Fools: On a Mission"

"The Last Holy Fools are a Los Angeles trio that's been compared to a Nirvana and Velvet Underground hybrid, and it's a well-earned comparison. Their music reflects a deep respect for lyrics and subtlety, as well as power chords and a mic stand in the face. Simply put, their fans do not come to fold their arms and spectate. For The Last Holy Fools, music is about balls and brains, power and taste." -- John Reseland, The Maneater, 9/29/06 - The Maneater, Univ. of Missouri-Columbia

Bio

Guts. Brains. Eclecticism. All these elements combine to form a uniquely American brand of arty garage rock that goes by the name The Last Holy Fools.

Alex Kim, the drummer, is a musical all-rounder from the Musician's Institute in Los Angeles. He is adept at classical piano, guitar, bass, trumpet, and ProTools, to name just a few of the instruments he plays. He is the band's technical wiz and an ace songwriter. He is equal parts Chopin and AC/DC.

David Waterman, the bass player, is the steady hand, the bridge between the drums and guitar. He provides the glue that holds the songs together, and without which they would fail. He is simultaneously soft spoken and utterly hilarious. Of all the members, he is closest to nirvana.

Brendan Gill, the guitarist, is the band's hungry wolf. Fueled by optimism and a drive to communicate, he is always passionate, if not always note perfect. He digs deep into his life experiences and time in the library to create 3-minute pop operas. He introduced the other members of the band to each other.
