Biography

The Last Word is an all original, four-piece alternative rock act based out of Spokane Wa. Known as a highly evolved group, they draw heavily from their influences who range from The Beatles, Goo Goo Dolls, Gin Blossoms, Tom Petty and the like. Led by award-winning singer/songwriter Jerad Finck, they have a mainstream harmony driven feel that almost anybody can relate to.
Jerad formed the group around five years ago, and while it has had an abundance of members they finally have formed the solid core that will be The Last Word for the coming years. It consists of Jerad Finck who writes the music, plays guitar and sings lead, Tom Ryan playing Lead guitar and singing backup, Tony Mackie playing Bass Guitar and singing back up, and finally Aaron Mathieson who wields the drums.
They have played shows in and around Spokane, and crowd turnout and reaction is always great, however they focused mainly on perfecting their craft and recording demos to get out around the world. Their hard work paid off as producers began calling from around the United States. They finally chose to work with Scott Mathews, whom is a grammy-winning producer that has worked with the likes of The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Ringo Starr, and Keith Richards just to name a few. It was an experience to say the least.
Now after just finishing their EP titled "Counting Change", they are getting ready for the final push. Already labels are interested, with nothing but more to come from this promising group.

What You Mean to Me

What you Mean to Me

I knew it was beautiful when I found more than who I am
Look inside and see her now staring back at what I just might be

They say that she’s only fair weather but
I’ll trust in her eyes

We’ll go and find out tomorrow
Why can’t we try
Hold on to this heart that you borrowed
I know what’s mine
and what you mean to me

All alone in a once warm bed I lay and wait, the phone call hasn’t come
Think of her in more than dreams, I’ll carry on , in hopes of her again

They say that she’s only fair weather but
I’ll trust in her eyes

We’ll go and find out tomorrow
Why can’t we try
Hold on to this heart that you borrowed
I know what’s mine
and what you mean to me

We’re not alone, we’re not alone

We’ll go and find out tomorrow
Why can’t we try
Hold on to this heart that you borrowed
I know what’s mine
and what you mean to me

Holiday

Written By: Jerad Finck

What is it that you hear me now
Because I’m finding out my own reasons
The silent beat of my heart
And there’s gotta be more than I’m feeling now

Where do we go, and where do we live and where do we sleep now
I wanna be wrong and I wanna be right, why can’t you say

That its my Holiday, I’ve been waiting for this too damn long
Its so hard to say that I cannot do this alone,
Its my Holiday, I’ve been waiting for this too damn long
Its so hard to say that I cannot do this alone

This broken path is out of control
Last call for realizations
The silent beat of my heart
and there’s gotta be more than I’m feeling now

Where do we go, and where do we live and where do we sleep now
I wanna be wrong and I wanna be right, why can’t you say

That its my Holiday, I’ve been waiting for this too damn long
Its so hard to say that I cannot do this alone,

Last Destination

Written By: Jerad Finck

Let me in a little while
and I’ll, take you down from your hideaway
Shadows of a time gone by,
have locked you into your hideaway

Damn tomorrow to bring another shiny day

I’ll find a way, to hold you for life
This is your, Last Destination
I’ll swallow my pride, if only to confide
This is your, Last Destination
You lit up my life and I can see that
I’ll hold you tomorrow, so leave all your sorrows, cause I’ll find you out another way

Listen up and hear my voice, cause I want
one more night alone with you
You wanted fireworks, well I’ll bring the whole wide world
along for you

Damn tomorrow to bring another shiny day

I’ll find a way, to hold you for life
This is your, Last Destination
I’ll swallow my pride, if only to confide
This is your, Last Destination
You lit up my life and I can see that
I’ll hold you tomorrow, so leave all your sorrows, cause I’ll find you out another way

Oh we’re moving on, we will find a way
They’ll trouble us no more
Reach out for the sky, and the stars will fall for you
This is how I know

I’ll find a way, to hold you for life
This is your, Last Destination
I’ll swallow my pride, if only to confide
This is your, Last Destination
You lit up my life and I can see that
I’ll hold you tomorrow, so leave all your sorrows, cause I’ll find you out another way

I have gone and seen it all
Now I know I need your or I’ll fall
You are my one and last
Destination
