The Latebirds

The Latebirds are an extremely dynamic rock act - from stadium rockers to country twang, from catchy power pop to leftfield punk, from loud guitars to piano ballads. The Helsinki-based rock quintet is led by singer/guitarist/songsmith Markus Nordenstreng whose new songs deal with anguised, lovelorn themes, as well as the state of today’s rock’n roll radio and the life of Johnny Cash. The Latebirds new album ‘Radio Insomnia’ was captured live in a studio in the legendary town of Woodstock NY with the help of producers Ken Coomer and Charlie Brocco. The album also features some rather well known guests, like Wayne Kramer (MC5), Ken Stringfellow (Posies, REM) and various members of Wilco. You can hear more good things about The Latebirds and their live shows from folks like Patti Smith, The Posies, The Jayhawks, Nina Persson and The Soundtrack Of Our Lives guys, all of whom the Latebirds have played with in recent years.
