Bio
The Late Night Benedictions started as a songwriting project. I was playing in other bands, and the LNB was going to be that side project where I released songs that didn't fit in the other bands' setlists. The first album was going to be a roots opera, based on a short story I had written. Soon enough, the other bands faded away, and the LNB was suddenly MY band.
And that was that. More and more songs started arriving, across a varied set of genres--singer/songwriter, folk, blues, pop, gospel, soul--so I settled on calling it a Roots band, and cast about for like-minded folks who could add some voices and instruments. Most everyone is also in other bands, and so I've settled on having a rotating cast of players, which means at any given show, you might get a completely different arrangement of the songs from the last show. To me, this is what makes the LNB great--the variety means that everyone should be able to walk away having heard something that moved them, or at least their feet.
