The Laughing Bones

The band was started by Perron in 2002 and initially had a Johnny Cash meets REM feel. Padgett joined the group in 2003, adding banjo to the mix. Masters and Bontrager joined in '04 and Donahue in '08. The Bones have maintained the concept that Perron based the intial formation upon. Each musician brings a musical element into play. From Flatt and Scruggs to Leftover Salmon, Johnny Cash to the Grateful Dead, The Meters to Phish. The music truely is a melting pot of styles and genres. Since forming, The Laughing Bones have played with acts like Del McCoury, Drew Emmit, Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, Vince Herman, Dark Star Orchestra.....
The thing that sets The Bones apart is their ability to go in so many directions in any given show. From ballad to slamgrass, blues to latin jazz, rock to country.
