Bio

Rising from the burning embers of two local bands in Halifax, The Laurie Little Band was formed when Laurie Little and Ian McLaws met in a coffee shop. Both knowing each other's band status, they decided that this was an opportune moment to form the band to gig and most importantly, to write songs together. Upon further discussion, they quickly realized that Laurie's unique writing style and Ian's more mainstream writing style could possibly make for a great songwriting partnership.
"We're not trying to re-invent the wheel, we just want to add an extra spoke."

Early in rehearsals the band noticed quickly the potential for gigging. After only two rehearsal sessions the band found themselves playing a set at a well known local establishment for a benefit. Never losing sight of the original aspect of music and after they learned some cover tunes they settled into songwriting.
"The primary goal is for us to write potentially good tunes with some great harmonies." I've heard Ian's tunes and I liked his style but it wasn't my style. I knew if we could do some writing together it might just possibly some of the best stuff to come out of this area in awhile."
