"The Law, "All Shined Up""

RECOIL MAGAZINE - All Shined Up is as advertised: beer spillin’ country music. No song goes longer than three-and-a-half minutes, but none need to. “Tennessee Top Hat,” “Factory Woman Woman,” “Cheatin’ In My Mind” and “Purdy One” are a few of the titles, and it’s not too tough to figure out their meanings well within the allotted time. If you laugh or dance too much however, you may miss that these boys from Grand Rapids have talent, or at least enough sense to stick to what they’re good at. The lyrics are all well written, and the lead vocals on songs like “Goldmine” resonate as well as anything on country radio. The faster numbers jam like a rock band would at a hoe down. With this debut, The Law proves there is such a thing as smart hillbilly country. — Nick Stephenson (RECOIL 2/2007)

The Law's first recording was a 6 song EP entitled "All Shined Up". Track 6, The Purdy One, was featured on West Michigan country radio "Thunder 94.5 FM". The band is currently finishing up new material for a full length album due out in 2008.

The Law was formed in Grand Rapids, Michigan in January of 2006. As fans of country music from "the outlaw era", the band's sound is classic country with a twist of rock and roll. From large outdoor festivals to small local clubs, fans quickly feed off the band's energy and stage personality during a performance. The Law has shared the stage with names as big as Carrie Underwood, Shooter Jennings, Gretchen Wilson, and David Allen Coe.
