"The Lawnmowers"

The Lawnmowers play spine-bending reggae; salacious and steamy to get folks just fired up enough to rub together what would be their laps if they were sitting down. - City Newspaper

"I Am In Love ... with The Lawnmowers!"

From the first song on, there was no standing still.....The lead singer, who also played guitar, is Ron Stackman. He has a very luscious, fluid voice - perfect for the reggae sound of the Lawnmowers. - Rochester Music Scene...and Heard

"The Lawnmowers"

My first stop was at the Jazz Street Stage to see The Lawnmowers. The band is mostly made up of veteran musicians of the local reggae scene, and I looked forward to finally getting to see it. The band didn't disappoint. The Lawnmowers play music of a high quality in a genre that can easily be distorted and monotonous, and it was the perfect sound to end a sweltering day. An accordion was an unconventional yet interesting addition. The band did a moving cover of Clapton's "Presence of the Lord." - City Newspaper Jazz Fest Blog

"The Lawnmowers"

After Ibrahim's early set I stopped by at Jazz Street for a Java's sandwich and checked out some from the new local buzzworthy reggae giants of the Lawnmowers.... These guys could slink into a nice reggae groove and Ron Stackman's voice is a great combination of unique and wonderful.

Bio

Rochester natives, THE LAWNMOWERS, are a somewhat confused, new 5-man group made up of some of the areas most well known musicians.

Their sound is deeply rooted in the rhythms of Jamaican Reggae interspersed with influences of Rock, Jazz, Cajun and Americana.

The bands instrumentation includes drums, bass, a couple of guitars and button accordion plus some pretty good singing and writing. They occasionally do back-flips. Their blending of styles is a unique and eclectic mix that will satisfy every music lover. Mostly.

Who could ask for anything mower?
