Bio

"This is not an act of treason" shouts The Lieutenants frontman Adrian Symcox on the opening track of his band's debut E.P. And he is right in this assertion. While there is no shortage of bands claiming The Clash, The Jam, or Elvis Costello as influences, The Lieutenants do not betray the legacy of Strummer, Weller, or Costello. Having grown up between London and Los Angeles, Symcox delivers charged, intelligent anthems with an uncommon blend of sincerity and swagger. With a lineup rounded out by the powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Jeff Meeker, bassist Tommy Branch, and outstanding lead guitarist Adam Arcos, the Lieutenants have built a solid following in and out of Los Angeles, via myspace, radio play on L.A.'s Indie 103.1 and Little Radio, and, gasp, actual word of mouth. The band's live shows are as electric as their sound. This year the band has performed the much coveted month-long Residency at LA's distinguished Silverlake Lounge, as well as performing on Indie 103.1's stage at the Sunset Strip Music Festival. A west-coast tour is in work for with national and European tours to follow.
