"The Lifted lift ticket sales"

The Lifted signed to Rudy Records of Springfield, MA elevated ticket sales at this years Locobazooka by some 500 tickets. “I’m not sure if we beat the Locobazooka record set by Godsmack,” says drummer Chris Clang. “But if we had another week, I’m sure we could have.”

Still, Clang says that the thousands who did witness The Lifted’s mainsatge set responded as if they were Sully Erna and company, “absolutely igniting” when they hit the stage and “screaming their brains out” for the entire set.

A big reason for all the excitement is the band’s brand new debut disc, “A Reason To Live.”
From the overdriven opening salvo of “Teenage Social Life” to the sonic screams of disc closer “Shutdown,” Reason is quite simply one of the tightest, most professional - sounding local offerings top to bottom to push through your neighborhood Nightcrawler’s JVCs in quite some time.

Bio

Since late 2003 The Lifted has been working to perfect their hard hitting blend of rock, metal, and alternative music. With the release of debut album and a list of high profile venues on their touring schedule, The Lifted continues their steady rise to the top.

Drummer Chris Clang, a veteran of the music business with over 22 years experience had already recorded with two bands when he met Guitarist Jeremy Doyle in 2001. Doyle, a schooled and exciting guitarist was also no stranger to the music scene. The two became fast friends realizing they shared similar goals and they began looking for musicians to form a band.

For the next two years Clang and Doyle recruited and practiced with dozens of musicians but never found the right fit. “We needed to find songwriting leadership with a talented guitarist and vocalist who would fit with our style,” Says Clang. In 2003, veteran vocalist Paul Levesque contacted Clang and Doyle through an ad in an entertainment newspaper and came in for a try-out. On that same day Doyle and Clang were introduced to guitarist Brian Mitchell through a mutual friend. When the four got together for a trial run, Clang and Doyle knew they were onto something big. Within the first week, Mitchell invited his friend, bassist James Bonette to visit a practice and the band was born. Everyone knew they had found the right combination.

Clang, Doyle, Levesque, Mitchell, and Bonnette are all experienced musicians, familiar with the trials and tribulations of forming a band, working in the studio, and playing to live audiences. Inspired by diverse influences like Nirvana, Metallica, Helmet, Korn, Deftones, Zepplin and Pink Floyd, the band was born to a rock legacy, but with the addition of metal and alternative elements, their sound became unique, engrossing, and powerful.

The five friends practiced for about six months before they were ready to play their first live show. The audience responded warmly to the band’s infective energy and charisma, giving them renewed energy to practice and perfect new material. In 2004, The Lifted was signed by indie label Rudy Records and went into the studio to record their first professional album, an EP, containing a sample of songs that represents their highly charged song writing.

While the release of their EP has given fans a first taste of The Lifted’s energetic rock sound, high profile concerts have allowed the five friends to share the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry. Two appearances at Locobazooka in 2004 and 2005 made them a crowd favorite as fans responded enthusiastically to the band’s on-stage energy.

As the band prepares for the release of their first radio single and the release of their first full length album “A Reason to Live,” The Lifted is just getting started. “Our music comes from the heart.” Says Clang. “The five of us have become a “machine.” On stage or recording; we have a kind of magic.” Whether you call it magic of just musicianship, The Lifted has unlimited potential. Their hard-edged rock and heart pounding songwriting stick with you from the first listen. - Rainmaker Publicity
