The Lighter Exchange

The Lighter Exchange

We've been inspired by so much musically and otherwise, which makes this quite a difficult task... We're the lovechild of a foursome between Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Nirvana, Led Zepplin, and Counting Crows... We simply want to make good music and share it with whoever will listen.

There is hope in despair... there is beauty in darkness... and there is melody in silence. These are the places that theLighterExchange begins. The Orlando-based 4 piece crafts songs with heart and soul, and draws from the ups and downs of everyday life for inspiration. "We truely want to effect people with our songs" says frontman Christian Wilson "This is far more than a hobbie for us. We are committed to making powerful music that will stand the test of's not always about being poetic, sometimes you just have to say what needs to be said & be true to yourself. We bare our souls in these songs and will continue to do so."

About a year ago, Christian began the search for the missing pieces to the musical puzzle, and he didn't have to search long. Enter guitarist/vocalist James McMullin... "James is an incredibly gifted musician and has a completely different vocal tone than myself. The first time we got in a room together, we knew we had something special". The two recruited long-time friends and confidants Brett Berdoll (bass) and Travis Zimmer (drums) and theLighterExchange was on their way..."being in a band with these guys is such a joy because they're all so goddamn good" he laughs "I bring in a rough sketch of a song, and they add counter melodies and dynamics in ways that, often-times I would have never imagined. It's like watching your child grow and it's a truly wonderful experience."

The band entered legendary King Snake Studios earlier this year to begin work on their self-produced debut "Truth be Told". They hired Los Angeles producer extaordinaire Scott Gilman to add the finishing touches to the album that they plan to release this summer along with heavy touring...
