Bio

"The Liquid Blues Experiment" was formed in the spring of 2002, when Vernal X. split from the bluegrass/roots group "Huckelberry Jam" to experiment with a new kind of blues/folk/experimental sound. He was beginning to combine many aspects of music...Free Form, Space Jam, Folk, Blues, Jazz and Middle Eastern were all strong influences and used heavily in early LBE demos.

The first collection from LBE, "Acoustic Songs For Delila" featured mostly acoustic ballads intertwined with long, epic "space" pieces involving experimentation with distortion, feedback and echo loops. It was this free form approach that attracted an underground following for Vern and LBE, and the interest would grow.

The double disk, self titled album followed and showcased Vernal X.'s profound output of material. Recorded in the span of two months, the 21 song collection is relatively obscure and was shelved to save money for the future releases...C.A.S.Records decided to move foward, rather than live in the past, a radical approach for most record companies.

Next, was the 2005 release "F*CK WAR", A collection of folk and protest songs. The single "Psychedelic Sunshine" was a local and costal success...its gritty and low-fi sound has won acclaim from many people.

In January, 2006, LBE and C.A.S.Records released and EP entitled "The Lemontine Sessions"...a collection of late night demo session and recording fallouts. Although more polished and organized than most LBE collections, it does showcase Vernal X. and his songwriting abilities, as well as LBE's willingness to move in different directions and follow inspiration.
