Never Alone

Written By: Thelma Martha Farmer

Starry nights were his first true love
And so of course they were mine
Darkest skies pierced with the brightest lights
His eyes and the stars they did shine
Now you may ask what I was thinkin' about
Goin' out there on my own
And don't you say I mustn't carry on this way
Because oh, I was Never Alone

Starry nights I found him there
Gazing up into the midnight air
Understanding that something was divine
It was his presence that made the stars shine
And then he'd turn to me and sweetly smile
And take me flying through the night
And for those moments the whole universe was mine
And it was oh, such a beautiful sight

Try to understand a starry night
Try to put it in words
Make absolute sense of absolutely everything
Don't you feel a little absurd

So don't you ask me what I was think' about
Going out there on my own
And don't you say I mustn't carry on this way
Because oh, I was Never Alone never alone
