"British Indie Rock Band The Loft Club is Breaking Out of UK and Germany into The U.S."

Lightyear Entertainment, after initially releasing the debut EP, "Heart's Desire" from England's The Loft Club in October, 2016, and a Niklas Ibach remix of the title track in November, is pleased to report that the band has now exceeded 200,000 spins on Spotify, with over 70,000 monthly listeners, has been added to a number of significant playlists, and is gaining a growing number of listeners and followers in the United States.

British indie band The Loft Club are an Exeter-based quintet, consisting of Daniel Schamroth, Jamie Whyte, Kieran Chalmers, Amy O'Loughlin and Dan Wright. Purveyors of stomping, heartfelt, sixties tinged guitarpop, their sound has been compared to Buffalo Springfield, Fleetwood Mac, The Byrds, Ryan Adams and Noel Gallagher.

One British blogger, Listen With Monger, said early on "Essentially, this is the music that the Beatles would have produced if, instead of getting introspective in India, they'd gone to the Mid-West with a burnt out double decker and gone native for a few months. The remix, by producer Niklas Ibach, turns the spirit of the song on its head and...we are treated to a floaty, airy slice of Zero 7 meets Above & Beyond in chill out mode which is no bad thing. So, here we have a talented band with a great single."

Lightyear CEO Arnie Holland said: "The Loft Club demo showed up with no introduction last summer, and by a stroke of luck, I decided to listen to it anyway. Within 30 seconds I was hooked by the melodies, harmonies, and infectious beat."

Sky Spooner, Lightyear's VP of A&R said "The initial plan was to let the band organically grow in its home territory of the UK. But now we're seeing signs that their followers are spreading worldwide. We're starting to see spins in the U.S. as well; Manhattan and Los Angeles are in the top ten worldwide markets now. "

The Loft Club is available worldwide on the Lightyear label through Caroline/Universal Music Group.

Introducing The Loft Club, purveyors of stomping, heartfelt, sixties tinged guitarpop.

British indie band, The Loft Club are an Exeter-based quintet, consisting of Daniel Schamroth, Jamie Whyte, Kieran Chalmers, Amy O’Loughlin and Dan Wright.

Comparisons range from Buffalo Springfield, Fleetwood Mac and The Byrds through to Ryan Adams and Noel Gallagher, a broad sonic palette unified by soaring harmonies and singalong choruses. British blog, Listen With Monger said of the band’s music: “Essentially, this is the music that the Beatles would have produced if, instead of getting introspective in India, they'd gone to the Mid-West with a burnt out double decker and gone native for a few months.”

Formed in 2015 from a string of chance meetings at shows and house parties, The Loft Club steadily built a local following playing shows and festivals. In 2016, their demo caught the attention of Arnie Holland, CEO of Lightyear Entertainment, who said “I was hooked by the melodies, harmonies, and infectious beat.” The band signed a worldwide distribution deal with the US based label, which in turn is distributed by Caroline Distribution/Universal Music Group. Lightyear’s catalogue includes releases by Eurythmics, Stevie Nicks, Damian Marley, Sophie B. Hawkins, and the fifth beatle Pete Best.

Their debut release, a 4-track EP entitled ‘Heart’s Desire’ was released in October 2016, through Lightyear/Caroline/Universal Music. The EP was recorded with producer Jolyon Holroyd at Valvetastic Studios, and mixed in LA by The Smashing Pumpkins collaborator Kevin Dippold. The title track, which had its video shot inside Exeter’s iconic Royal Albert Memorial Museum, received support from over 50 specialist radio stations across the country, and was added to popular Spotify playlists such as Radio Active’s “Indie Hit List” which helped the band grow an international following. Sky Spooner, Lightyear's VP of A&R said “Their followers are spreading worldwide. We're starting to see spins in the U.S. as well; Manhattan and Los Angeles are in the top ten worldwide markets now.”

In November 2016, the band released a remix of “Heart’s Desire” by German producer Niklas Ibach. It garnered early attention from music bloggers, and after six weeks had amassed over 100,000 plays across Spotify, Soundcloud and YouTube. The remix become a viral success, making Spotify's weekly Viral 50 chart in Lithuania at #29 on March 27th 2017, while the band surpassed 70,000 Monthly Listeners on Spotify.

The Loft Club's new single is scheduled for release in summer 2017, with their debut album due for release early 2018, to be accompanied by their first UK tour.
